PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient rigidity even when a head support device has a thin profile by adopting a metal for a major structure member and molding a member associated with the surrounding with a resin composite member. CONSTITUTION:An arm frame 1 fitted with a gimbal device 8 fitted with an upper magnetic head 7 consists an upper arm formed by molding a resin composite material to the end of a stainless-steel made upper magnetic head support metallic structure member 2, a carriage frame 6 fitted with the gimbal device 8 fitted with a lower magnetic head 9 and a carriage part formed by molding the resin composite material at both ends of the lower magnetic head support metallic structure member 5 for a connection structure member 4 fitting a spring 3 bonded to the stainless-steel made upper head support metallic structure member 2 by a screw 10. For example, 40wt% of glass flakes whose one side is nearly 150mum is added to a polycarbonate resin as the resin composite material, then since the glass flake has a 2-dimensional reinforcement effect, the anisotropy of the linear expansion coefficient of the arm frame 1 formed by the injection molding method, the carriage frame 6 and the connection structure member 4 is less and a low linear expansion coefficient is attained.
