<p>PURPOSE:To strongly bond vulcanized rubbers together or a vulcanized rubber with concrete, metal or the like in water, by coating the bonding surface of a vulcanized rubber with a specified undercoat, coating the surface with an underwater-curing resin adhesive and bonding the rubber with another adhered. CONSTITUTION:A vulcanized rubber is previously surface-treated in air by coating its surface with an undercoat comprising a vinyl group-containing monomer/rubber graft copolymer. When such vulcanized rubbers are bonded together or such a vulcanized rubber is bonded with an adherend such as concrete or metal, one or both of the surfaces of the adherends are coated with an underwater-curing epoxy resin adhesive and then bonded together. As said vinyl group-containing monomers, general-purpose (meth)acrylate esters, styrene and, in addition, monomers having a functional group chemically reactive with the epoxy resin adhesive are effective. It is particularly necessary that a monomer having a functional group is contained in an amount >=2%.</p> |
