PURPOSE:To improve durability as a heat insulating effect is maintained in an excellent manner, by a method wherein a space with a given gap having both ends closed by flange parts is formed between a ceramic assembly, forming an auxiliary chamber, and a metallic ring mated with the outer peripheral surface of the assembly. CONSTITUTION:In a vortex chamber 18, groove parts 38 and 40 are formed throughout the whole peripheries of ceramic bodies 20 and 22, respectively, with which an assembly 26 is constituted, and spaces 42 and 44, positioned facing the grooves 38 and 40, respectively, are formed between the ceramic bodies 20 and 22 and a metallic ring 24. Namely, circumferentially-extended flange parts 46, 48, 50, and 52, positioned to both ends in a pile-up direction of the assembly 26, are formed on the outer peripheral part of the ceramic bodies 20 and 22, and a metallic ring 24 is shrink-fitted in the outer peripheral surfaces of the flange parts 46 and 48. This prevents combustion gas, leaking past an abutment part between the ceramic bodies 20 and 22, from entering the spaces 42 and 44, and prevents reduction of a heat insulating effect due to smoke gathering in the spaces 42 and 44. |
