PURPOSE:To absorb warp of a sheet form metallic substrate and enhance rectilinearity of a heating element part, by a system wherein a head base is obtained by firing an insulating glaze on a sheet form metallic substrate bent in a substantially L-shaped or U-shaped form, and a heating element part is provided at the bent part. CONSTITUTION:A heating resistor 4 is provided on the insulating glaze 2 at a substantially U-shaped bent part 1a, and electrodes 5 are provided as an individual electrode 5a and a common electrode 5b on opposite sides of the heating resistor 4. A support member 6 is provided on the inside of the substrate 3 to immovable support the substrate 3 by a fastening means such as a small screw.The substrate 1 is easy to bend, whereby the warp of the substrate is absorbed, so that the rectilinearity in the longitudinal direction of the substrate 3 is enhanced. In addition, since the heating element aprt is provided at the projected form bent part 1a of the substrate 3, adhesion thereof with a recording medium for thermal recording or thermal transfer recording is enhanced. The support member 6 is formed of a material having favorable thermal conductivity and light in weight, e.g., Al, whereby strength for supporting the substrate and a heat-releasing effect can be obtained. |
