PURPOSE:To provide the titled economical reagent for the quantitative determination of creatine kinase, containing N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and an SH-containing compound other than NAC, storable stably for a long period in the form of solution and usable quickly for the test in emergency. CONSTITUTION:The objective reagent for the quantitative determination of creatine kinase can be produced by adding 0.1-100mM of NAC and 0.1-50mM of an SH-containing compound other than NAC (e.g. dithiothreitol) to a composition composed mainly of 2-70mM of creatinephosphoric acid, 0.05-20mM of beta-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (phosphate), 0.1-20mM of adenosine diphosphate, 0.1-40 unit/ml of hexokinase and 0.1-40 unit/ml of glucose-6- phosphate dehydogenase, etc., and adding other activation agent (e.g. MgSO4), preservative (e.g. Na azide), stabilizer (e.g. soluble starch), etc.
