PURPOSE:To make it possible to mark a code number easily to a high- temperature product such as a hot cast product by casting out bar codes or deforming them by carving and simultaneously reading out data in respective groups by different laser range finders. CONSTITUTION:The 1st mark 4 group corresponding to thin lines 1, the 2nd mark 5 group corresponding to thick lines 2 and the 3rd mark 6 group corresponding to blanks 4 are formed on the surface of a cast product by casting-out procedures. When the bar codes are scanned by three laser range finders arrayed in parallel correspondingly to respective mark 4-6 groups at the reading of the bar codes, output waveforms are obtained and can be encoded. Thus, the code number can be easily marked on a high-temperature product by forming the marks 4-6 on the basis of casting-out procedures.
