PURPOSE:To implement high reliability, by using a piece of wire, on which noble metal is plated. CONSTITUTION:A piece of Al or Cu wire, on which Au is plated, indicates high corrosion resistance as a piece of Au wire and can be applied for plastic sealing. With respect to corrosion at the bonding part of the Al wire and a lead frame, the wire, on which Au or Ag is plated, is used. The wire is connected to the lead frame by applying ultrasonic waves on the wire. The plated metal is not exfoliated from the Al wire, on which Au or Ag is plated, by the ultrasonic waves. Therefore, the bonding strength between the plated metal and the lead frame, on which Ag is plated, is high and corrosion does not occur. Thus, high reliability is implemented. |
