摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial/antifungal substrate that has a transparent inorganic-organic composite coating film having excellent adhesion to various material substrates, having flexibility and causing no cracks, and maintaining antibacterial/antifungal performance even after long-term use.SOLUTION: An alumina sol comprises at least one alumina hydrate particles having a crystalline form selected from the group consisting of fibrous or acicular boehmite and pseudoboehmite, obtained by hydrolysis of aluminum alkoxides. The alumina hydrate particles have a minor axis of 1-10 nm, a major axis of 100-10,000 nm, and an aspect ratio (major axis/minor axis) of 30-5,000. An antibacterial substrate has thereon an inorganic-organic composite film formed by a coating composition containing 10-120 pts.wt. of a quaternary ammonium salt-containing alkoxysilane compound having following general formula (1) with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the alumina hydrate particles, in the alumina sol.SELECTED DRAWING: None
