PURPOSE:To eliminate the deflection of belts and to prevent the deformation of an ingot by changing the size of the water feed port of water feed means in the transverse direction of the belts so that the flowing water film of cooling water is made uniform. CONSTITUTION:A belt caster is oppositely disposed with a pair of the cyclically movable metallic belts 1, 2 to constitute a casting space to a convergent shape and is disposed with cooling pads 4, 5 apart from each other via a liquid passage space behind the belts 1, 2 to cool the belts. The diameter D of the water feed holes 6 of the pads 4, 5 opened to face the belts 1, 2 is made larger toward the ends than in the central part in the transverse direction of the belt. |
