The copying device is intended for transferring pattern templates onto materials to be cut to size and consists of a guide holder having copying wheels which are arranged so as to be variable in distance relative to one another and to be fixable in different positions on the guide holder. In order to guarantee a parallel position of the copying wheels in any assignment position relative to one another and to construct the device so that it can be produced and handled easily, the guide holder (1) is constructed at one end in the form of a U-shaped bar (2). The limb (3) of the bar (2) which is remote from the handle forms an axis of rotation (4) which is circular in cross-section. The other limb (5) is provided with engagement holes (6) which are arranged in a row and parallel to the limb (3) remote from the handle, and arranged engaged in which, depending on the desired distance position, are engagement pins (7) of hollow copying wheel housings (8) which can be filled with a marking substance and can be plugged onto the axis of rotation (4). <IMAGE>
