PURPOSE:To coat an overcoating liquid without disturbing a powder image and to decrease the amt. of the overcoating liquid to be used by transferring the powder image on a final transfer body via an intermediate transfer body then coating an overcoat protective layer on the powder image. CONSTITUTION:The powder image is transferred onto transfer paper by a copying machine and is held without being fixed. This powder image is first transferred to the intermediate transfer body 11 consisting of silicone rubber, etc. A self-adhesive layer S is then formed on the final transfer body 12, for example, a ball by coating a self-adhesive agent thereto. The body 11 is pressed to the ball to transfer the powder image T onto the layer S. The overcoating liquid is coated on the body 11 and the body 11 is pressed onto the ball 12 to transfer the overcoat protective layer P onto the image. The overcoat liquid is further coated by a brush 13 onto the layer P to form the overcoat protective layer F. Since the overcoat layer P is transferred onto the powder image T, the disturbance of the powder image is eliminated in the stage of coating the final overcoat layer F. The powder image is thereby made sharp and fast.
