The seat part of the chair is pivotable relatively to the frame (1) around a first central point, with a first pivoting axis extending along the front edge of the seat part. The seat and back support parts are reciprocally pivotably connected around a second central point (19) with a pivoting axis parallel to the first. A force-developing (22) component acts between the back support and either the frame or seat, and has engagement points and dimensions so that the seat can be made to pivot backwards and downwards from an upright position in relation to the frame. The chair maintains a constant angle between seat and back support, until a predetermined position is reached. From this latter position, the back support can pivot backwards and downwards in relation to either the frame or the seat, at the same time maintaining a constant angle between the seat and the floor. |
