PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of dust with use of the holding mechanism of a recording medium in the transport and storage modes of a disk cartridge and to avoid a leading mistake, by providing a medium holder which has a contact with the tip of a shutter and works when the shutter is closed. CONSTITUTION:When a disk cartridge 1' is put into a driver, a pin 13 of the driver presses down a guide member 14 and opening parts 6-8 closed by a shutter 9 are opened by a steel belt 12. At the same time, a medium holder 19 releases the fixed state of a recording medium 3 via a spring 21. Thus the reading/writing operations are possible. When the cartridge 1' is taken out of the driver, a guide member 14 is reset with the resetting force of a spring 11 and the shutter 9 closes the parts 6-8. At the same time,the shutter 9 turns the holder 19 via the spring 11. Then the holder 19 presses the medium 3 to a wall part 17 and fixes it there.
