PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a floppy disk device by providing an inhibiting means which transmits a read data signal and an index signal to a floppy disk controller for the fixed period of time from a time point when the signal which changes the revolving speed of a spindle motor is switched. CONSTITUTION:A floppy disk device consists of a control circuit 1, a signal transmitting circuit 2, a signal receiving circuit 3, a gate circuit 5 and a monostable multivibrator 6. The circuit 5 uses a read data signal 10a and an index signal 11a as inputs and decides according to the state of a gate control signal 13 whether a read data signal 10b and an index signal 11b are delivered or not. The vibrator 6 delivers a pulse to the signal 13 for a fixed period of time from a time point when a switch signal 12b delivered from a controller 4 for floppy disk is changed. Thus it is possible to inhibit the transmission of both signals 10c and 11c to the controller 4 for the fixed period of time from a time point when a switch signal 12a is switched. Then the constitution of a floppy disk device is simplified.
