Standby accumulator comprising a stack of lithium/thionyl chloride electrochemical cell elements and a breakable ampoule 20 containing the electrolyte, the breaking of this ampoule activating the accumulator. The stack comprises a series of metal discs carrying a lithium layer on one surface and a bound carbon black layer on the opposite surface, these discs 15 being separated by separators 19. Current collectors 13, 22 are connected respectively with the outermost lithium and carbon layers. The assembly of the stack and electrolyte ampoule is contained in a case 13 and means 24 are provided to rupture the ampoule when the accumulator is to be set into action. <IMAGE> |
