PURPOSE:To provide the titled curing agent easy to industrially handle, without impairing imidazole compound characteristics, capable of giving cured products of outstanding heat resistance and electrical properties, consisting essentially of a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective curing agent consisting essentially of a compound of formula I [R1-R3 are each alkyl or (substituted)aryl; X is H, methyl or halogen; Y is -CH2-, of formula II or III, -S-, -O-, -SO2- or -NH-; n>=1]. For preparing the compound of the formula I, it is recommended, for example, that a reaction is carried out between an imidazole having active hydrogen at the N of 1-site of formula IV and a diepoxy compound of formula V.
