PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity of heat exchanger by a method wherein through-holes, provided on allover the width of respective heat transfer plates so far, are concentrated to the central portion of the plates by avoiding to provided them at the end rim sections of upstream side and downstream side of primary fluid and belt-like reinforcing sections are formed on both end rim sections. CONSTITUTION:The belt-like reinforcing sections 7 of predetermined width W, provided with no through holes 2 at the upstream side end rim and the downstream side end rim sections of primary fluid of respective heat transfer plates 1a, 1b, 1c, are provided to reinforce respective heat transfer plates and increase the rigidity of heat exchanger after laminating these plates. The end rim section of the heat transfer plate, especially the end rim section at the upstream side of primary fluid, is the area having high heat transfer coefficient originally and accordingly the heat transfer coefficient of the whole of heat transfer plate is not reduced so much even in case the through-holes are not provided specially.
