NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> is alkyl or $>(sub stituted) phenyl; R<2> and R<3> are H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, alkylthio or (substituted) phenyl]. EXAMPLE:(3S,4R)-1-Allyl-3-[(R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4-phenylsulfony-l-2-aze tidinone. USE:An intermediate for penem or carbapenem derivatives which are anti microbial agents. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II is dissolved in a solvent, e.g. THF or ether and treated with 1-1.5 equivalents base, e.g. butyl lithium or lithium diisopropylamide, at -78 deg.C-room temperature for 10min-3hr to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. |
