PURPOSE:To provide a remedy for nephritis containing N-2'-carboxyl-3',6'- dimethylphenyl-4-chloroanthranylic acid or its salt as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective remedy for nephritis having urinous protein secretion activity can be produced by using N-2'-carboxyl-3',6'-dimethylphenyl-4- chloroanthranylic acid or its salt as an active component and mixing the component with a carrier. It can be administered in the form of tablet, film-tablet, capsule, powder, granule, suspension or injection, at a dose of 5-100mg daily, preferably 10-30mg daily and, in the case of intravenous injection, 1-20mg daily, preferably 2-6mg daily. The above compound used as an active component can be produced from 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid and 3,6-dimethylanthranylic acid by Ullmann reaction. If necessary, it is converted to an alkali metal salt such as Na salt, K salt, etc., for administration.
