An actuator and pivot for a door (Fig. 1) comprises a first operating member (1) connected to a door and a second operating member (2) connected to drive means (11). The two members have cooperating faces, each having a raised portion (5, 9, see also Fig. 2) comprising a quarter-segment of a circle, whereby the door (16) an be manually swung through 180 DEG C but also the second member (9) can be rotated to swing the door into an open position in response to a signal from a fire or smoke detector. <IMAGE> |
