The invention relates to a lopping saw whose saw blade is arranged at one end of a handle, preferably a telescopic handle, and may be driven relative to the handle, with a reciprocating translational movement which takes place in the longitudinal direction of the saw blade by means of a motor which is integral or can be attached to the handle, preferably at the other end of this handle.
