The apparatus for magnetic field therapy comprises a pulse generator (1), which periodically generates pulses, preferably square-wave pulses, at a repetition rate of less than 20 Hz, preferably between 0.1 to 2.5 Hz. The pulse generator (1) feeds a coil arrangement having at least one core (19, 21) made from ferromagnetic material and a coil (15, 17), connected to the pulse generator (1), round each core (19, 21). The core or the cores of the coil arrangement form two stray field coupling regions which are placed on different points on the body of the patient or are detected by the latter using his hands. The core or the cores can have a rod or annular shape. The pulse amplitude and the pulse frequency of the pulse generator (1) can be adjusted. <IMAGE>
