PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a recording picture inclined to black or to white by dividing a picture signal to picture element groups divided by every n-number in a main scanning direction and recording them with a recording density corresponding to the number of the black picture element of each picture element group when recording the picture signal with a device having 1/n number of picture element of one scanning line. CONSTITUTION:A shift register 11 stores a picture signal LD from a receiving part by unit of scanning line. Each logical operation circuit 12 (affixed characters are omitted) outputs a recording picture element signal (0) when both of inputted two picture element signals are (0 s), a signal (1) having a pulse width of 0.1mS when either of them is (1) or a signal (1) having the pulse width of 0.2mS when both of them are (1 s), and it is supplied to a memory attached driving integrated circuit 13. Each circuit 13 stores the level and the time width of the signal RD which is supplied to and performs the conduction control of a corresponding driving element 14 according to a conducting signal E which is supplied in order in the main scanning directional order. Thus, so that a conduction is executed to a hating element 15 according to the signal RD outputted from the circuit 12, it is represented in (n+1) steps corresponding to the number of the black picture element of n-number of the picture element signals.
