<p>Pressing tool for manufacturing a rack 4, especially a rack with a variable transmission ratio by means of different forms of tooth profile, which has an upper die part 1 and a lower die part 2. A die part 2 forms the negative form for the lower part of the rack to be manufactured from an unworked piece and, in the other die part 1, the toothing profile of the rack to be manufactured is moulded in negative form. The rack is manufactured by means of cold shaping pressing, for which purpose a die part 1 effects a seesaw movement over the unworked piece. Between the two die parts 1, 2 is a slot 13 for the lateral exit of material, during the pressing process, which at least in part is filled via both longitudinal sides of the rack 4 which is being shaped, via the battens 8 which are produced. The surfaces 10, 11 of the two die parts 1, 2, facing each other, are configured laterally, beside the negative forms of the rack 4 and within the zone of the slot 13, in such a manner that the slot at least partially widens outwards.</p> |
