PURPOSE:To maintain a naturality of a recording picture and to improve a resolution by adding a multiplying means, changing a quantity of a correction in accordance with a difference value between a noticed picture element data and a profile correcting data, and preventing an abrupt profile correction from being performed with respect to a picture area in which a gradation is gently changed. CONSTITUTION:A present circuit comprises a subtraction circuit 1, a multiplication circuits 2 and 3 and an adder circuit 4. The subtraction circuit 1 calculates a difference value between the supplied noticed picture element data A and a profile correcting data B corresponding to the noticed picture element data A and supplies to a multiplication circuit 2 (A-B) value of the calculated result. In accordance with the largeness relation between the noticed picture element data A and the outline correcting data B, + or - code bit (e) is supplied to the multiplication circuit 2 and a multiplication circuit 3. The multiplication circuit 2 is a multiplier using a ROM. In the ROM, the values of M (A-B) corresponding to plural types of intensifying correction factors M are previously respectively stored every M value group. The intensifying correction factor M has a factor value changed in accordance with (A-B) value so as to have a small factor value when the value of (A-B) is small and a large factor value when it is large.
