PURPOSE:To fully employ a display device for a persona computer system having high performance by providing a simulation memory storing previously the rate of the largeness of the screen of a received character and pattern information and the largeness of the predetermined screen of the display device. CONSTITUTION:By referring to a multiple screen display indicator memory 25, Captain image data obtained in a logic decoder 14 is the multiple screen display data or not is discriminated. When it is the multiple screen display data, the size ratio data is read from a simulation memory 27, by reading the memory 25, a quadrant data indicating to which quadrant the Captain image data belongs is read. According to the result, the address of a relevant quadrant is read from a video RAM offset address 28. Thereby, a text address represented by a quasi-line and quasi-column is obtained. When using the previously read size ratio data is used to this to enlarge the screen size, a display dot on a display device 17 is determined.
