PURPOSE:To give proper negative charge to a toner and to prevent it from deterioration for a long period by attaching a specified metal dithicarbamate to the surface of a charge donor, such as carrier particles or the like. CONSTITUTION:The metal dithiocarbamate to be used is represented by the formula shown on the right in which R is 1-24C alkyl, cyclic, alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; M is a divalent metal atom, such as Zn, Co, Cr, or Cu; and n is 1-4. This compd. is dissolved and dispersed, and mixed with fine iron carrier particles to attach it on their surfaces and it may be added to the surfaces of a cylindrical sleeve or a doctor blade, thus permitting the obtained toner to be enhanced in charge controllability and durability by the presence of said compd. on the surface of the charge donor. |
