PURPOSE:To position a voucher quickly and appropriately by installing on a reading stand a means for positioning the voucher so that its seal impression of the voucher can expose through the window hole of a retaining plate. CONSTITUTION:The voucher 21 is placed on the reading stand 11, and the window hole 13 of the retaining plate 12 is equalized to the seal impression of the voucher 21, thereby setting the position of the voucher 21. Then guide members 15 and 16 are positioned by matching to the edge part of the voucher 21 through the operations of knobs 17 and 18, and the seal impression is read out by an image pickup device. When the seal impression on the voucher of the same form is continuously read, the guide members 15 and 16 are held in said state, and the edge part of the voucher abuts on the guide members 15 and 16, thereby reading continuously the voucher.
