PURPOSE:To obtain the titled poultice contributing to the washing off of allergen and useful for the remedy of allergic conjunctivis, etc., by using a solvent containing sodium bicarbonate and boric acid in combination with a drug as essential components, adjusting the pH of the composition in alkaline state and impregnating in a water-absorbing medium. CONSTITUTION:An antiallergic periophthalmic poultice is produced by using a solvent containing sodium bicarbonate and boric aid in combination with a drug, adjusting the final pH of the mixture to 7-7.8, and impregnating the mixture in an absorbing medium. NaHCO3 generates CO2 in use by the pathogenic substance such as antibody, etc., and contributes to the washing off of allergen. Ascorbic acid is especially preferable as the drug component because it releaves the congestion and suppresses the fibrinolytic activity. Preferably, the water-absorbing medium 2 impregnated with the drug liquid 1 is sealed with an air-impermeable film 3 for the convenience of long-term storage and the production and distribution.
