PURPOSE:To conduct also the test of an idle channel by using a time division switch loopback and the allocated line terminal interface unit loopback function of a terminal station equipment and a data transmission/reception check function in a central station equipment according to the control of the central station equipment so as to conduct the channel connection test. CONSTITUTION:A processor PC7 in the central station equipment CS2 sets an optional channel CHA to a time division switch TDSW5, then the processor PC7 sends a control data from the central station equipment CS2 to a terminal control section CTL9 through an optical control section OPT4 and a terminal station optical control section OPT8 and sets the same channel CHA as the channel of the central station equipment 2 to a time division switch TDSW10. Further, the central station equipment 2 selects any of time division switch loopback, the control of loopback of an allocated line terminal interface unit LUT11 and the loopback of a manual terminal equipment T12, and the processor PC7 gives an indication to a data transmission/reception check section 6 CHCK to conduct line test using an optional channel.
