PURPOSE:To effectively and high-responsively restrain knocking, by rapidly delivering control signals having suitable values necessary for restraining knocking, upon occurrence of knocking to restrain knocking, and as well by completely treating even variations in the factor of occurrence of knocking. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition signal is generated from an ignition signal generator 1, being accompanied with rotation of an engine, a waveform shaping circuit 2 issues ignition pulses having a predetermined pulse width, which correspond to an ignition pulse signal input in a switch circuit 4 after passing through a phase shifter 3, so that turn on and off the supply of power to an ignition coil 5, and upon turn-off of the power supply each engine cylinder is ignited at an ignition voltage generated in the coil 5, and therefore, the engine is driven. A pressure sensor 8 detects the internal pressure of an intake-air pipe which is sensitive to the load of the engine, and an acceleration sensor 6 detects the vibrational acceleration of the engine. Further, a knocking detector 7 sorts the components of knocking, and the level of the output is computed by a computer 11. The computer 11 obtains the rotational speed of the engine from a circuit 10 and a load condition in view of the pressure signal to detect knocking in the operating condition of the engine, and as well these signals are stored in a memory 12 as reference control signals if the operating condition is maintained uniform over a predetermined period. |
