In the invention for submitting an electrically programmable read-only memory to a test of electrical insulation, a voltage charger 15 is used. This charger, as well as its control circuits 18, 19, are integrated in the same substrate as the memory. Since the control signals for this charger must be powerful, and since moreover the construction of an integrated amplifier is tricky, use is made of an additional output 21 of an additional decoding circuit 20 of a decoder 2 in order to control this charger. This additional decoding circuit selects the charger when it receives an address identical to that which enables another decoding circuit 8 of the decoder to select a given row 9 of memory slots 1 of the memory plane 70. Selection of the row of memory slots is disabled V and selection of the control 30 for the charger is enabled V by acting on selectors 14, 22 mounted in cascade with each decoding circuit. <IMAGE>
