PURPOSE:To obtain an antibody outside a living body, by cultivating a normal B cell in a culture medium containing interleukin 2 and a B cell differentiation factor. CONSTITUTION:A protoplasted B cell derived from a B cell sentitized with an antigen (which is regardless of the kind thereof and may be a single or plural antigens) is cultivated in a culture medium containing interleukin 2 and a B cell differentiation factor to give the aimed antibody with very high productivity. A human B cell increases the cell volume under antigenic stimulation. This means that the B cell transfers from the resting phase (G0 phase) to the G4d1 phase in the cell division cycle. The cell becomes a state in which in vivo action affecting the multiplication and differentiation of the B cell can be received thereafter. This is called a proplastic cell. The temperature at which the B cell is cultivated is preferably about 37 deg.C, and the aimed antibody can be sufficiently produced with very high productivity by cultivating the B cell preferably at 7.4pH for 3 days. |
