PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by incorporating a specific olefin and resin with a specific amount of a volatile rust preventing agent, containing the rust preventing agent dispersed uniformly therein with a high content, having improved transparency, heat-sealability and rust preventing effect and suitable to packaging materials for metallic products. CONSTITUTION:A rust preventing polyolefin based ionomer composition obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. olefin based resin prepared by partially neutralizing free carboxylic acids in a random copolym of an alpha-olefin, e.g. ethylene, and an alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, e.g. acrylic acid, containing 0.1-20mol%, preferably 2-10mol% content (copolymerization ratio) of carboxylic acid monomer component within 5-90mol%, preferably 10-70mol% range with an alkali (earth) metal ion, e.g. sodium ion, having a lower standard electrode potential than aluminum with (B) 0.5-30pts.wt. volatile rust preventing agent, e.g. diisopropyl ammonium nitride.
