CHARACTER BROADCASTING RECEIVER

PURPOSE:To provide reception of all the character broadcastings without confusion by informing with a message that a contradiction occurs between the currently displayed picture and that selected by the user if so happened, or by forcively switching to the correct video signal. CONSTITUTION:In case the picture currently displayed on a display control part 220 and that directed through a remote control key-pad 30 contradict each other, a message of alarm to display on the scope is transmitted to a display control part 230. For example, during a time when a content received through VHF is made a picture and displayed on the screen, if a character- graphic information (VBL) data in the vertical interval of the satellite broadcasting or a character broadcasting transmitted in form of a PCM data is directed by means of remote control, a CPU 10 reads a mode register 170 first, and finds the state of a video/sound-signal switching signal 18 to detect a contradiction of the broadcasting to the program requested. Then, the CPU 10 transmits the data and command of the message prepared beforehand to a display control part 230.
