The invention relates to compact modules for operating fluorescent lamps having a monolateral contact arrangement by means of known inductive ballasts which, as closed, fully functional modules, unite the luminaire accessories of lamp (1), lamp mount (2), lamp mount holder (3) and ballast (4). If required, a starter can also further be integrated with the mount and holder. According to the invention, the arrangement is such that the required mount holders (3) are arranged on and/or at the mounting rails necessary for the design of the ballasts, and the ballasts are electrically connected to the connecting points of the mount (cf. Fig. 1).
