PURPOSE:To prevent a sudden torque variation from occurring as well as to keep off the sudden starting of a car, by installing a clutch driving device controlling the engagedness of a clutch and also installing a clutch detecting device detecting the clutch engagedness. CONSTITUTION:A stroke detecting sensor 11 as a clutch detecting device, consisting of a potentiometer, detects the engagedness of a clutch with strokes of a rod 6a of a clutch controlling actuator 6. The detection signal is converted into a digital signal at an analog-to-digital converter 12 and outputted to an output interface 13. A central processing unit 20 serving as a driving control device, a releasing device and a judging device inches the rod 6a whereby it drives and controls the actuator 6 in order to gently connect the clutch. In addition data for inching control over the rod 6a are stored in a memory 21 and on the basis of these data, the actuator 6 is driven and controlled.
