PURPOSE:To reproduce a fine picture without deteriorating a wide-area picture by emphasizing the strength of signal of a part to be emphasize-generated among picture signals to generate a fine line. CONSTITUTION:A video signal supplied from a signal generating source is supplied to a print-correction-signal generating circuit B that relates to an emphasis signal generating circuit. The picture signal and emphasis signal generated by the said circuits are made to be a superposed signal through transistors Q1, Q2, and Q4, and is supplied to a laser diode LD. The laser diode emits light by this superposed current iLD, which is supplied to a storing body. Meanwhile, part of the laser-beam output is detected by a photodiode for photo detection, and a signal in proportion to the laser beam SD is outputted. A main control circuit H-CTL outputs an output SA so that the said output of the signal coincides with a preset signal Si, and latched at a constant level during the printing process cycle.
