PURPOSE:To improve physical properties of a film in a hydrophilic colloidal film, without affecting to the photographic characteristics such as a photosensitivity etc. by incorporating a copolymer latex contg. a monomer having a free phosphoric acid group or its salt, and another monomer in a specific ratio to the hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The polymer latex is prepared by copolymerizing 0.1-20wt% monomer shown by the formula wherein R1 is H or CH3, A is -O- or -NH-, R2 is 2-10C alkylene, 6-10C arylene group, M is an alkaline metal ion, an ammonium ion or H ion, and 80-99.9wt% another monomer capable of copolymerizing with said monomer. The titled material is produced by incorporating the polymer latex to the hydrophilic colloidal layers such as a silver halide emulsion layer and an intermediate layer. The polymer latex has a good stability and compatibility with the hydrophilic colloid. The titled material having the improved film characteristics such as a dimensional stability and a scratch strength is obtd. |
