PURPOSE:To automatically determine completion of lapping by determining the completion based on a dispersing value of force applied to a contact arm which makes contact with a dimension regulating stopper. CONSTITUTION:When a time T elapses after lapping starts, a cylinder 13 is actuated so that a contact arm 9 makes contact with a dimension regulating stopper 3. At the same time, an output value from a strain gauge 10 adhered to the contact arm 9 is continuously detected for a prescribed period of time and the value is applied to a control unit M through an amplifier 15 and an AD converter 16. The control unit M calculates a dispersing value of the data entered and compares the calculated data with a reference dispersing value. When the calculated data is less than the reference dispersing value, it is determined that the lapping has completed. |
