The hydraulic pressure-regulating valve (1) which can be electrically activated is used for the controlled admission of pressure medium to a shift member (12) of an automatic motor-vehicle transmission. In order to obtain optimum adaptation of the admission pressure to the shift member for smooth gear-shift actions, a control piston (2) held in an adjustable manner in a housing (4) is to be provided. As a function of a control pressure which acts against a restoring force and can be continuously adjusted by a solenoid valve (3) which can be activated as a function of the operating state, the control piston (2) controls the admission pressure in a pressure-admission line (11) leading to the shift member (12) by connection to at least one pressure-medium feed line (9) or an outlet line (10). <IMAGE>
