The invention relates to a cutting block for a machine for cutting wire to length and stripping it, having blade sets which are driven in an oppositely moving manner, of which one blade set is used as a cutting blade and the others as stripping blades, each having two interacting blade cutters with the features: a) that the cutter of each stripping blade is elongated, is aligned parallel to the blade movement and is arranged in a blade holder which is aligned parallel to the blade movement, b) that each blade holder forms a rolling surface on both sides of the cutter, c) that the cutters and rolling surfaces are arranged facing one another, separated by the diameter of the wire which is to be processed, and d) that, in the quiescent state, the distance between the mutually facing cutter ends defines a space which corresponds approximately to the diameter of wire which is to be processed.
