A tool for the mechanical removal of mould partition burs from mouldings, which is elastically deformable with the moulding in the area of engagement and executes a high-frequency oscillating motion transversely to the mould partition bur is to be of simple construction, less expensive to manufacture by means of industrial robots and to be universal in its application, i.e. capable of use irrespective of the shape of the respective moulding. For this purpose, the invention envisages that the tool be constructed as a helical spring which is held in a holding device at both ends and the generated surface of which engages in an approximately punctiform manner on the moulding.
