In order to reduce the wide range of types it is desirable to design conventional rocker switches such that, if required, they can be used as pull switches once a pulling cord has been fitted. The invention creates an embodiment which avoids additional parts, in that an eye (3) which is opened via a slot (2) is constructed on the switching rocker (1), behind which eye (3) the end of the pulling cord (5) provided with a knot (4) is held. Starting from this eye (3), the pulling cord (5) is passed through an opening (9) which is located centrally in an operating rocker (6) which is plugged onto the switching rocker (1). <IMAGE>
