ANNULAR CUTTER

PURPOSE:To prevent breakdown at the joint by providing a fitting section which is strong in axial and rotary directions at the joint of cutter section and shank section then coupling both members integrally through shaving. CONSTITUTION:Different materials are employed for the annular cutter section 1 and the shank section 2. In other word, tubular basis material of high speed tool steel is employed for the annular cutter section 1 while a tubular basic material 2' of chrome-molybdenum steel is employed for the shank section 2. Both sections 1, 2 are integrally jointed through shaving at the point 3. Grooves 4 are provided radially with constant pitch in the upper end section of the annular cutter section basis material 1' while annular grooves 5 for preventing removal of such depth as corresponding with shaving are previously formed in the innercircumferential face of the cutter section basic material 1'. While shaving margin A is provided between the inner diameter at the upper end section of the annular cutter section basic material 1' and the outer diameter of the shank section basic material 2'.
