PURPOSE:To improve a mixture property in a combustion chamber, by forming a low speed port in a position higher than that of a high speed port, in the case of an engine equipped with the low speed port supplying fuel and the high speed port providing an opening and closing valve opened when the engine is in high speed operation. CONSTITUTION:A two-intake valve type engine, equipped with a low speed use intake port 21A providing a fuel injection valve 3 and supplying fuel while a high speed port 21B providing an opening and closing valve 4 opened when the engine is in high speed operation, forms the low speed use intake port 21A in a position higher than that of the high speed use intake port 21B. If the opening and closing valve 4 is opened when the engine is in high speed operation, the low speed use intake port 21A forms a swirl toward the downward, on the contrary, the high speed use intake port 21B comes to form a swirl toward the upward, and a flow of intake in the both ports is better mixed. Accordingly, the engine improves the forming condition of a mixture in a combustion chamber.
