PURPOSE:To miniaturize a painting booth and to dispense with the explosion- proofness of a robot main body, by arranging the gun arm driving operation part of a painting robot in the chamber formed to the outside of the painting booth and performing painting while the air feed control of the chamber is performed. CONSTITUTION:Air is supplied into a chamber 2 receiving a painting robot 3 by an air feed apparatus 13 to make the atmospheric pressure in the chamber 12 higher than that in a painting booth 2 and the ignitable gas generated from the paint in the booth 2 is prevented from penetrating in the chamber 12. When the pressure in the chamber 12 reaches a set value or less if the flexible hose 10 or cover 11 comprising the soft material for constituting the chamber 12 is damaged and the possibility for allowing the ignitable gas in the booth 12 to flow in the chamber 12 is generated, the operation of an arm driving operation part 9 and the air supply apparatus 13 is stopped through a pressure sensor 14 and a control apparatus 15 to prevent the spark to the ignitable gas.
