PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in removing contaminants by separating a liq. etc., into the contaminant-rich part and the contaminant-poor part and filtering only the contaminant-rich part. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 5 capable of emitting sound waves and a reflector 4 capable of reflecting the sound waves are arranged opposite to each other in a vessel 3 for containing a liq. 2 to be treated such as drinking water and industrial water and the relative interval is made variable. An extractor 14 capable of extracting the liq. to be treated at an optional position is further provided between the vibrator 5 and the reflector 4. By this method, water contaminants can be effectively removed. Namely, the liq. etc., is separated into the contaminant-rich part and the contaminant-poor part in this method by utilizing sound waves and only the contaminant-rich part is filtered. Consequently, the contaminants are efficiently and excellently removed and the inorg. and org. materials dissolved in the liq. can be completely removed. Namely, the contaminants in water or in the liq. can be easily and surely removed with a simple device without using any chemicals.
