PURPOSE:To desirably vary the distribution of torque between front and rear wheels while traveling at the time of four-wheel driving and improve traveling performance by connecting the output side of a transmission to both front wheel side and rear wheel side via hydraulic clutches respectively and separately controlling the hydraulic pressure of both of said hydraulic clutches. CONSTITUTION:When driving with four wheels, a signal with large duty ratio is sent to both solenoid valves 40, 40' from a control unit 44, setting s signal oil pressure small. Thereupon, clutch oil pressure control valves 35, 35' generate high clutch oil pressure and feed the pressure to both hydraulic clutches 20, 20' respectively, causing both clutches 20, 20' to be engaged. As a result, the power from the output shaft of a transmission 4 is transmitted to the front wheel side via a front side drive shaft 14 and a differential unit 16 while also transmitted to the rear wheel side behind transfer gears 19, 21 and a rear drive shaft 22. At a medium or low speed area, for example, the torque distribution is made in such a way that the hydraulic clutch 20' has a higher oil pressure and torque, to obtain a travel mode close to that of an FR car.
