Method for preparing used scintillation tubes for their disposal, including feeding the scintillation tubes into a preparation plant, pulverising the scintillation tubes by means of cutting discs moving in opposite directions, separating the scintillation liquid by washing the cut-up tube parts with the aid of a solvent, drying the washed tube parts, putting the washed tube parts into a first container, putting the separated scintillation liquid into a second container, and testing the separated scintillation liquid enriched with solvent for the overshooting of specific limiting values of radioactivity, and a plant for carrying out this method.
